Probability LLC ("we," "us," or "our") built the Constellation Guide app ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect or store any of the following:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifier
- Your location or GPS data
- Photos or camera roll contents
- Contacts or address book data
- Device microphone audio
- Any data from users under 13 (the App is rated 4+ and contains no directed data collection from children)
We do not use advertising SDKs, sell data to third parties, or engage in behavioral ad tracking of any kind.
What We Do Collect
1. Anonymous Device Identifier
We generate a random anonymous identifier for your device (not linked to your Apple ID, name, or any personal information). This identifier is used solely for rate limiting AI requests so the service remains fair and available to all users. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
2. AI Chat Messages
When you use the AI Sky Guide feature, your messages are sent to OpenAI for processing via the GPT-4o-mini model. We do not permanently store your chat history. Messages may be cached briefly (typically minutes to hours) on our servers to improve response performance, but no personally identifiable information is included. OpenAI's data handling is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
3. Anonymous Usage Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (by Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated data about how users interact with the App — such as which features are used most often, session duration, and app performance. This data cannot be used to identify you. Google's data handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Crash Reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports when the App unexpectedly closes. These reports contain technical details (device model, iOS version, stack trace) to help us fix bugs. No personal data is included in crash reports.
Subscriptions & Purchases
Subscription and in-app purchase management is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We do not see, store, or process your payment card information or purchase history beyond what Apple provides (e.g., whether you have an active subscription entitlement).
Data Sharing
We share data only with the service providers described above (OpenAI for AI processing, Google/Firebase for analytics and crash reporting), and only as necessary for the App to function. We do not sell, rent, or trade any data to third parties for marketing or other purposes.
Data Retention
AI message caches are automatically cleared within 24 hours. Anonymous device identifiers are retained only as long as needed for rate limiting. Aggregated analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to their own retention policies.
Children's Privacy
Constellation Guide is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not include directed advertising, social features, or in-app purchase flows targeting children.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal information tied to your identity, there is typically no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have concerns, please contact us and we will respond as promptly as possible.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
